Research abstract

Zaden Technologies introduces Icarus™, an AI-enhanced Architecture-as-Code (AaC) tool which revolutionizes the verification and validation (V&V) processes of safety-critical systems within Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) frameworks. This project will streamline the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for these critical systems, significantly reducing the time and resources traditionally required for manual V&V methods. Utilizing advanced machine learning and automation, Icarus™ aims to efficiently analyze documented system requirements, generate MBSE models, and generate acceptance tests that verify the system conforms to those requirements. The automation emphasized in this approach promises to accelerate project timelines and ensure a high level of consistency between system design intentions and operational capabilities. Expected outcomes include the capability to produce behavioral test specifications and detect architectural drift between system requirements and design when compared to the system’s implementation. The deployment of Icarus™ is anticipated to offer substantial cost reductions, enhanced system reliability, and faster deployment times. Commercial applications extend across various sectors that employ MBSE, including aerospace and defense. This initiative is aligned with the needs of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Simulators Division (AFLCMC/WNS) in that it enables delivering capability at the speed of relevance due to accelerated V&V.
