Research abstract

Shelter systems are critical for U.S. military operations, providing essential support to Airmen globally. Shelter systems must be effective in austere environments and capable of enduring extreme weather events. Expeditionary shelters provide temporary accommodations, personnel safety, and adaptability to help Airmen accomplish their mission. Compotech's MINATORS are lightweight, scalable structures offering world-class energy efficiency and structural integrity to Airmen. MINATORS have undergone rigorous U.S. Army testing and are resilient in 75 mph winds without line anchoring. Compotech will further refine MINATORS and develop a wind line anchoring system that enables MINATORS to withstand forces equivalent to a category 5 Typhoon. This enhancement aims to provide the Air Force with unrivaled shelter stability in the most challenging conditions, which will be crucial for expeditionary shelters in the Indo-Pacific theatre. MINATORS will be able to safeguard Airmen and critical equipment from the dynamic threats they face.
