Research abstract

Hover, Inc is developing a Detect and Avoid (DAA) system that exceeds the capabilities of all others. The system has a 10:1 Size Weight and Power (SWaP) and 5:1 cost v. existing TCAS I/II systems. Also, it uses Airborne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS) X which improves overall safety by 20%, reduces overall alerts by 65% and has the flexibility to integrate with different sensor types. The DAA system uses a computing platform developed by Hover, Inc and an interrogator/ antenna that is available through a partnership with Thales. Furthermore, it is unique in that it can be integrated with small and medium sized aircraft and it can be used in a contested environment where Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is denied.
