Research abstract

weThink's proposal outlines the development of an innovative AI-driven assessment platform aimed at enhancing the evaluation of Air Force Foundational Competencies within Air University's existing instructional framework. Leveraging our established technologies that currently assess critical skills, this initiative seeks to incorporate an advanced data collection mechanism. This mechanism will be processed by a sophisticated graph-enabled Artificial Intelligence (AI) system, designed to evaluate competencies and analyze team activities. The core objective is to seamlessly bridge the gap between gaming scenarios, war-gaming scenarios, and real-world operational exercises. This integration ensures that the training and competency development of Airmen and Guardians are not only relevant but also directly applicable to real-world scenarios. The proposed work involves the utilization of cloud-based assessment and analytics applications. These applications are engineered to evaluate behavior and performance through the use of popular commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) esports games and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) games currently employed by the Air Force. By adopting a phased process for implementing AI in competency evaluation and team activity analysis, the project aims to provide a comprehensive solution that addresses the current limitations in effectively preparing military personnel for operational challenges. The initiative is structured to enhance the existing courses of instruction at Air University by integrating additional data collection methods. These methods are meticulously designed to be processed by graph-enabled AI, facilitating a more nuanced and in-depth evaluation of competencies and team dynamics. The ultimate goal is to create a robust platform that not only assesses individual and team performance within simulated environments but also translates these assessments into actionable insights for real-world application. In summary, weThink represents a forward-thinking approach to military training and competency development. By harnessing the power of AI and game-based learning, this project promises to revolutionize the way foundational competencies are assessed and developed, ensuring that Airmen and Guardians are better prepared for the complexities of modern warfare and operational tasks.
