Research abstract

High-power microwaves (HPM) systems offer a leverage point against marine, ground, and air platforms by directly targeting electronics systems with precision strike capability and minimizing collateral damage. HPM development is focused on reducing system size for compatibility with smaller and higher mobility platforms while at the same time extending the range of effective countermeasure strikes. However, system size and precision (i.e. directionality and steerability) in most cases compete in direct tradeoffs.  To meet this interest, Nanohmics in collaboration with Texas State University proposes to develop a metalens solution, which is spectrally-invariant, for improving antenna gain in X-band antenna systems.
