Research abstract

Research, evaluate, and ultimately determine the proper configuration of COTS safety devices, sensing, control, and procedure, required to enable existing mobile heavy industrial robots (non-collaborative) to work in the same areas as humans and everchanging environments without the need for static safety fencing, door interlocks, and/or light/laser curtains. Integrate the identified technology configuration into an existing system for demonstration and conduct a risk assessment for the demonstration system to be used for determination of safe operation in the dynamic depot environment.
