VANESSA: Virtual Analysis Networks and Explanations for Social Sensing Analysis

ForĀVANESSA (Virtual Analysis NetworksĀandĀExplanationsĀforĀSocial Sensing Analysis), SIFTĀisĀpartneringĀwith Dr. Bonnie Dorr and her lab at the University of Florida as a subcontractor, as well as Dr. Pete Roma from the Naval Health Research Center as consultant. Under this project, we aimĀto develop a social sensing platformĀtoĀimprove team readinessĀandĀperformance, capturing social dynamics influencing individualĀandĀteam states. The overall goalĀofĀVANESSAĀisĀtoĀperformĀsocial sensingĀofĀTEAMworkĀtoĀoptimize TASKwork. The VANESSA architecture integrates diverse dataĀtypesĀcollectedĀinĀhighly ecological analog settings (space analogs HERAĀandĀHI-SEAS). We will deploy a Team Social Dynamics modelĀwithinĀa hybrid top- down/bottom-up frameworkĀinĀorderĀtoĀprovide recommendationsĀtoĀshapeĀorĀinform the team. The VANESSA technology will be an objective,Ārepeatable, efficient, accepted,ĀandĀnon-intrusive meansĀofĀassessing relevant psychosocial statesĀtoĀthe studyĀofĀindividualĀandĀteam behavioral performance.ĀWithĀa focusĀon linguistic aspectsĀofĀTEAMworkĀandĀTASKwork, we will leverageĀdiagnosticsĀbasedĀonĀemergent psychological statesĀasĀwellĀasĀHierarchical Task Network (HTN) planning modelsĀforĀgenerating recommendations.
