Research abstract

With the integration of female soldiers into active-duty combat roles, comprising around 17% of U.S. armed forces, there is a notable absence of female representation in combat casualty training. This gap contributes to gender disparities in patient treatment, impacting mortality rates. To address this, our proposed FIRST Responder solution offers an efficient, interoperable, and modular medical simulation training platform. It focuses on improving female combat casualty care, providing realistic female simulators, and enhancing training content delivery. The platform integrates various simulation modalities, fostering an engaging and context-appropriate learning experience. Crucially, it operates without requiring direct instructor involvement. The solution aims to bridge the training gap, addressing anatomical and physiological differences, and ultimately contributing to improved combat casualty outcomes.
