Research abstract

As the battlefield evolves with more and more advanced IoT devices collecting and sharing an increasing amount of critical information for vital situational awareness, the Navy needs a secure way to collect and store the large amounts of information such that an adversary cannot impact provenance or history of the data. To address these challenges RAM Laboratories is proposing SABRE, an open and permissionless blockchain solution built on top of next generation peer-to-peer Information Centric Networking (ICN) technologies for fast and efficient sharing of data over high-bandwidth links. SABRE provides a decentralized immutable global ledger that devices can append security critical data, providing integrity and provenance in the face of multiple malicious devices without reliance on a centralized trusted third party.
