Research abstract

TodayÆs advanced waveforms and modern electronic signal synthesizers present an opportunity to realize a wide range of waveforms for radar applications. This proposal seeks to define the most desirable characteristics for radar systems. And to optimize waveform candidates for those characteristics to improve performance over the baseline. A future, COTS based hardware architecture establishes the limits of the electronic hardware to synthesize and digitize a waveform. A realistic model will be used to estimate performance of the optimized waveform to baseline performance. The model will be verified with hardware loopback tests. To prepare for future development, a plan will be made to execute an over the air and the performance expected from that test. Approved for Public Release | 22-MDA-11340 (16 Dec 22)
