Research abstract

The gap between a military mission's current and desired state is critical for planners and strategists. It involves assessing the military's existing capabilities, resources, and readiness (the current state) and comparing it to the intended objectives and goals of the mission (desired state). In summary, the gap between the military mission's current and desired state is fundamental to military planning. It enables commanders to understand their challenges, allocate resources effectively, and make informed decisions to achieve their mission's objectives successfully. Our proposal, called ACED (Altering Current- state to an Effective Desired-state), will approach the problem of understanding the gap by concentrating primarily on the actions "blue" (us) can take to produce a state that will be more advantageous than the one we are encountering now. We will only consider "red" (them) based on actual observables or trusted predictions.
