Research abstract

Assured Position and Navigation (APN) in a multi-domain, signal-denied environment is essential to tactical, operational, and strategic success. The need for APN is ultiplied during high-risk, strategically impactful special operations. Growing vehicle technology and digital APN technologies provide a new opening for adversarial attacks that can disable APN. Our competitor’s capability to deny traditional signal-reliant methods of APN like GPS is proliferating rapidly. Current methods to augment ignal-reliant APN are insufficient for the needs of our Special Operations Forces (SOF). Exergi will use its proprietary proven Route Optimized Drive Cycle Generation Request (RODGR) drive cycle synthesis tool and patented physics-informed AI/ML energy prediction models augmented with vehicle sensor information to monitor for obstruction and provide accurate vehicle location in compromised, unreliable, and denied environments. Exergi’s existing predictive energy software continuously monitors the unique signatures of vehicle energy use alongside onboard vehicle sensors and compares it to the physics-informed model. Finally, development of the trained models used to inform position based on energy will automatically enable the additional capability of energy informative routing for the subject vehicle. This will optimize the overall energy usage of the vehicle whether it is a conventional, hybrid, or fully electrified propulsion system, and can feed into the cloud logistics system for monitoring on the vehicle and at command to ensure successful mission completion.
