Research abstract

ZDEN is a defense technology startup that seeks to disrupt how technologies are fielded onto military platforms. Glasswing is focused on end-to-end digital engineering, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled technologies, and rapid capability integration. Glasswing is proposing leveraging its emerging machine learning (ML) research to develop Clandestine Operating Vehicle Electronics Replacement Technology (COVERTTM), an Open Architecture Electronics Control Unit (ECU) that uses AI to digitally replicate and control vehicle systems, sensors, software-defined radios, and electronic warfare equipment. Special Operations Forces (SOF) could use COVERT to strip an indigenous non-standard commercial vehicle's ECU and replace it with a new or modified ECU and a laptop that would interface with the new vehicle’s systems in minutes. Additional carry-on open architecture Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) payloads could be integrated nearly instantly.
