Research abstract

Computer dependency is becoming a foundation of vehicle development”, but in the rise of computing complexity comes restriction to user access which has equated to giving our SOF operators less control of the vehicles we provide them. Should our operators desire to augment the systems of an issued Non-Standard Commercial Vehicle (NSCV) they are forced to ‘hack’ the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) or develop an ad-hoc hardware solution. These solutions are clearly not the right answer and not in the best interest of the warfighters. During the Phase I PoP there will be specific objectives Raglan will seek to ensure successful transition to Phase II.
