Research abstract

Umbra provides multipleĀsolutions in an effort to reduce latency between image collection and exploitable intelligence in order to support the NavyÆs mission and use cases. Phase I will specifically study reducing latency during the following three processes in the tasking to exploitation timeline: collection to downlink, downlink completion to image formation, and raw Phase History Data (PHD) to Compensated Phase History Data (CPHD) conversion. As part of the Phase I option, Umbra will assess additional methods of reducing latency including: direct uplink, on-orbit processing, and crosslink capabilities.
