Research abstract

Building on the success of our autonomous mowing robots deployed at Scott, Tyndall, and Ellsworth Air Force Bases under Phase II and Phase III contracts, Renu Robotics is advancing its technology into a versatile maintenance tool with specialized attachment techniques. This next-generation system will undergo rigorous testing to meet operational needs ranging from FOD removal to equipment towing and communication. After demonstrating its capabilities in selected military locations, a comprehensive final report will guide the full-scale deployment of this dual-use, Āmulti-purpose, autonomous solution. The Department of the Air Force, specifically the 509th Bomb Wing, located at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, has a need to develop an autonomous robotic multi-tool platform to autonomously accomplish airfield repair tasks currently performed by personnel. Renu Robotics is now focusing on pioneering autonomous attachment techniques for versatile base maintenance applications. This evolved system will be rigorously tested to meet a wide array of operational demands, from FOD removal to snow clearing and equipment towing. Following successful demonstrations at select military sites, a detailed final report will be prepared to inform the full-scale rollout of this innovative, autonomous attachment technology. Ā
