Research abstract
This SBIR Phase II.5 effort will be used to accelerate the incremental development, test, demonstration, and delivery of the Reconstruction and Assessment of Proficiency in an Integrated Debrief (RAPID) software in preparation for instantiation across all platforms, missions, and training environments in Phase III. The effort will leverage work that was previously accomplished during SBIR Phase I and Phase II. During Phase I, Fleet training requirements were decomposed by training experts into building block elements in order to rapidly develop, test, and deliver the overall architecture and capability map for RAPID while delivering a functional Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) analysis tool in prototype form. During Phase II, 2 Circle designed the next technical increment for development, instantiated the design into the software, delivered capability for testing by training analysis and data collection SMEs, evaluated results, corrected deficiencies, and then advanced to the next increment of development of the prototype. The outcome of Phase II was a matured prototype capable of supporting external (non-Fleet aircrew) data collection experts, such as those from the Training Analysis Project (TAP) team, for data collection, analysis, storage, documentation, and reporting in support of operational unit-level live and virtual-constructive (LVC) integrated F/A-18, EA-18G, and F-35 Air Warfare (AW), Strike Warfare (STW), and Suppression of Enemy Air Defense (SEAD) mission debriefs. Phase II.5 will advance the progress achieved during Phase II in support of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) aircrew instructors and students. At the completion of the SBIR Phase II.5, RAPID will have the automated processes and analytical tools required to realize the goal of supporting a performance-based training program for TOPGUN including data collection, analysis, storage, and reporting requirements, which is considered a critical step in preparation for Fleet-wide aircrew instantiation in SBIR Phase III.
