Research abstract

In response to the Navy SBIR Topic N232-099, Triton Systems will develop a low-cost floating mesh networking node deployable from US Navy and US Marine Corps vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft to expand maritime situational awareness during ASW missions. Sea surface mesh networks enable new CONOPS for ASW missions and data exfiltration.Ā TritonÆs node design maximizes deployability, RF performance (range, data rate, reliability), persistence, and cost. During Phase I, Triton will study sonobuoy payload performance objectives, communications/mesh networking performance, and overall system survivability in a maritime environment to demonstrate feasibility.
