Research abstract

Private Sector Problem: Postproduction houses need a tool that enables rapid file transfers and workflow creation to allow for more time creating beautiful, rich content.   Photographers and producers often follow a convoluted workflow that included editing video in the field to send a shorter file, then compressing the video with one vendor’s software, then using another vendor’s service to send the files. This workflow created a lot of steps in the field and even more back at the station. Each one burned time and slowed down the overall delivery of the files, which is bad news for meeting critical deadlines.   Private Sector Opportunity: latakoo has created a solution for postproduction houses that need to transfer or transcode a large number of files, such as reality television, documentaries, entertainment and sports content.   latakoo’s compression tool enables postproduction houses to send files fast, edit with video proxies right away, and sync full resolution files at the end of the postproduction process. Additionally, users can send uncompressed files directly to an asset manager of choice with latakoo HUB. Latakoo features built-in collaborative tools such as meta tagging, comment tracking, and transcription with timecode and replaces multiple workflows for one, end-to-end solution. latakoo began as a solution to aide news photographers in sending broadcast-ready video from the field back to their stations as quickly as possible to meet deadlines.   latakoo’s patented technology was created to allow broadcasters to quickly export their full resolution files and simultaneously compresses and upload them to the cloud. In the cloud, intelligent notifications alert team members that the file is ready for download or to start the transcription process. latakoo HUB automates downloads and transcodes, preparing the files for broadcast.   Current users/customers of solution: latakoo has completed multiple secure integration projects with media vendors, including Avid Interplay, Grass Valley Stratus, Dalet Galaxy, Bitcentral, Associated Press's ENPS, and others. These integrations provide workflow automation, secure and fast file delivery, and content sharing that allows broadcast groups and content owners to do their jobs more efficiently. latakoo was designed and built to be agnostic and interoperable. The company’s core philosophy is to find collaboration and integration points with any other best-of-breed products that customers already use. The goal is to be a secure, efficient, effective platform that can service multiple workflows in multiple verticals.  latakoo’s Generative coding solution incorporates novel encryption, compression, and decoding technologies for providing secure and reliable ultra-low-latency data streaming across lossy network connections.
