Research abstract

Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC) is a key capability that must be deliberately trained, developed, and maintained, to be successful in the operational environment. CASEVAC operations require expert clinical decision-making across a wide range of dynamic tactical situations and operational environments. Current training modalities are expensive and logistically challenging to execute, limiting the availability of operationally relevant training to large exercises and formal courses.  The VRMSS can be adapted to provide an efficient and effective means of frequent readiness. SimX’s VRMSS adaptations can enable CASEVAC teams to train, “not until they get it right, but until they can’t get it wrong.”
