Research abstract

Reliable Robotics automation technology enables a fundamental transformation of the global air transportation industry, resulting in significant improvements in operating efficiency, aircraft utilization, environmental impact reductions and aircraft operational safety. This technology directly applies to the civil and AF fleet of cargo aircraft through seamless mission operations, speed, and flexibility. Beyond disaster relief and humanitarian missions, the Reliable Robotics dual-use solution reduces costs and increases safety for forward deployment re-supply, while mitigating loss of life risks for missions in hostile environments. The Reliable Robotics Corporation advanced autopilot system and retrofit kit solution enables existing manned aircraft to be remotely piloted gate to gate for military applications, and civilian revenue flights. The aircraft operates autonomously within all stages of flight and ground operations with minimal input required from the remote pilot. The ground based remote pilot provides ATC communication, flight guidance inputs (waypoints, headings, altitudes, etc.) and subsystem monitoring to ensure safe integration including detect and avoid assurance for operations in the US National Airspace System (NAS). The remote pilot does not “hand fly” the aircraft via a stick or yoke, thus reducing workload and increasing communications robustness.
