Research abstract

The increasing reach and capabilities of adversaries Integrated Air Defense (IADs) present an access, reach, and cost challenge to blue forces. A low-cost weapon system possessing significant reach and payload capacity with multiple systems launched simultaneously could overwhelm adversaries IADs systems. The focus of this proposal is research and development related to the Air Force’s future armament development area of Affordable Mass. The objective of this proposal is to further develop and demonstrate an enhanced capability to airdrop four Cargo Launched Expendable Air Vehicle with Extended Range (CLEAVER) cruise missiles on a single standard Type V platform utilizing operational aircraft, aircrew, airdrop, and rigging equipment.
