Research abstract

TSG proposes to develop a compact LIDAR module for insertion into the COBRA platform that will use full waveform flash-lidar data completeness to maximize capacity for mitigation of surface wave caustic bands, multiple scatter and opacity / occlusion due to water surface artifacts. Building on the Phase 1 Base and Option work we will transition the resultant design parameters to a design-for-fabrication effort that produces a focal plane array flash LIDAR device and integrated module. This monolithic device fabrication and integration effort comprises the work of Phase 2, which includes both bench testing and limited field tests in relevant environments. Phase 3 opportunities exist for the resultant receiver technology, and will be exploited in both government and commercial marketplaces.
