Research abstract

This proposal is to develop a complete Autonomous, Self-Adaptive, AI-Powered, End-to-End Pipeline for Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace (AutoIPB). Our AutoIPB system will use a suite of AI techniques to enhance Marine Corps mission planning by enabling faster, more accurate, less labor-intensive IPB (Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace). It will: (1) Scan open source data as well as curated repositories, to discover and extract relevant information; (2) Build-in assessments of source credibility and uncertainty; and, (3) Transform the resulting data into structured, human and machine-readable intelligence products able to integrate with downstream mission planning tools. Our technical approach features the innovative integration of several AI capabilities into one powerful system: (1) First, swarms of AI Data Scouts (autonomous agents operating in parallel, using context-aware reinforcement learning and adaptive relevance filters) find and collect mission-relevant data across text, imagery, and geospatial formats, intelligently adapting search strategies to discover and prioritize mission-relevant data; (2) Second, a hybrid AI Credibility Assessment Engine uses Bayesian inference, cross-source triangulation, and neural network contrastive learning techniques to intelligently assess credibility and explain the resulting rating for users; (3) Third, this scoring feeds into Dynamic Metadata Fingerprinting, which logs the origin, transformation history, and confidence levels, creating a traceable trust profile for each data point; and (4) Finally, automatic data formatting transforms these diverse inputs (text, imagery, geospatial, temporal, etc.) into mission-ready, structured intelligence products optimized for analysis, ensuring immediate usability by computerized mission planning systems and human operational workflows. The Perceptronics Solutions team is highly qualified to perform this SBIR project. In previous work for DARPA, ONR, AFRL, and the Army, we have provided systems using AI automation to aid human decision making and command. In addition, Perceptronics Solutions has an outstanding record of transitioning and commercializing SBIR R&D products to programs of record and is currently performing on several Phase III initiatives for the Army, Navy and Air Force.
