Research abstract

Areté Associates proposes further development of VAULT, a software application providing an advanced video compression capability targeted at domain-specific video scenes.  In Phase I development, Areté demonstrated the feasibility and performance of its technical approach, outperforming current video compression methods in both objective and subjective metrics for domain-specific video scenes.  This work provides a roadmap for Phase II development of the VAULT Graphical User Interface, improvements to video compression throughput, and various additional features.  Finally, we discuss commercialization plans for this technology as well as domain-specific expertise that Areté Associates brings to bear to supply quality technology to the USN
