Research abstract

We solved the Air Force capability gap of evaluating weapon systems for cyber security vulnerabilities by providing a tool that automatically reverse engineers core attributes of embedded devices that encompass the heart of weapon systems technology to help scale assessment, test and evaluation efforts to ensure Air Force critical weapon systems remain resilient against sophisticated adversaries. We will recognize profit by charging commercial medical, aviation and critical infrastructure vendors to enhance device security and meet regulatory requirements. Air Force end-users include cyber test & evaluation squadrons, acquisition engineers, research directorates (e.g., Air Force Research Lab) and cyber assessment teams (e.g., USAF Mission Defense Teams). The Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapons Systems is well-positioned as the proposed customer, ready to transition innovations beyond the SBIR Phase II effort.
