Research abstract

Element 119 LLC has an already-developed commercial line of various specialty aerospace ceramic coatings that can be readily adapted for Air Force use on aircraft for corrosion as well as for other land-based and marine uses. Our Phase 2 proposal involves building upon the research and development effort we began in Phase 1, using select products from our existing line of coatings and making the necessary modifications for Air Force or military utilization. We have three letters of support for two different uses of our coatings: (1) protective corrosion control coatings and (2) specialty ceramic coatings for lighting, visibility and pedestrian safety. Additionally, we have interest regarding potential modifications of the technology, not limited to corrosion control coatings, to meet other end-user sustainment requirements. Element 119 offers the following value proposition: • Widely regarded as one of the first laboratories to harness SiO2 technology • Recognized as the worldwide leader in innovation and improvement of ceramic paint protection technology • Proven industry track record of offering custom formulations built to specific customer requirements • Proven technology of commercial products that have been used worldwide for nearly a decade by Fortune 500 companies
