Research abstract

Problem Statement: AF Leaders at all levels are expected to be problem solvers and make effective data-driven decisions. However, no formal training exists to specifically empower leaders with these types of problem solving skills. Proposed Solution: Dynamic Ideas will give Air Force leaders the tools to solve their own problems by teaching them critical analytical skills. Air Force leaders will be empowered to develop the analytical framework necessary to apply data to solve problems and make decisions. Additional Benefits: As internal development of tech solutions that leverage coding languages, artificial intelligence, and machine learning become organic to AF units, leaders who are not SMEs in these areas need to maintain the problem solving edge and drive the analytical frameworks that these tech solutions will be applied to. The curriculum will do this and empower the leader to “trust but verify” the algorithms without being a data scientist/coder. While not relevant to every AF unit in this way (yet), it adds a layer of value to the skills the curriculum will teach, that are relevant for, today.
