Research abstract

Monkton has developed Rebar, a platform for building NSA NIAP Compliant mobile apps that also perform identity services (Purebred). Apps built with Rebar are compliant for data at rest, data in transit, and use approved authentication and authorization methods approved by the DoD. Monkton’s Phase 2 proposal is to leverage past performance within the USAF developing BRICE, the USAF’s first mobile app to process FOUO data, the cloud, and integrate with a legacy mainframe, into a repeatable process. This proposal will work to build a repeatable “Solution Center” that will enable the DoD to focus on the mission, rather than technical and policy problems. With the Solution Center, developers build apps that leverage Rebar, test, scan, and deploy them leveraging a Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment methodology. Additionally, part of this proposal is extending this capability to the private sector. Over $70 billion dollars have been made by app developers in the private sector. Virtually none of that has been made selling to the federal government or DoD. By making it easier for 3rd parties to integrate Rebar and be compliant with NSA NIAP and identity requirements, we will open a whole new field of revenue for the private sector.
