Research abstract
Data Society presents a SBIR Phase II technical quote in response to Topic AF192-001 to the AFWERX Command of the United States Air Force that is focused on demonstrating the feasibility of, and operational and financial gains that would result from, delivering an Artificial Intelligence-powered, rapid knowledge and decision-making tool for providing real-time situational awareness around AI and other state-of-the-art technological capabilities with respect to their impacts on national defense (CAFÉ). After a successful Phase I, Data Society found an Air Force customer / end-user interested in developing an MVP of CAFÉ in 90 days, and we have commenced work. That organization was specifically interested in the the CAFÉ tool for use in sourcing the most modern, AI technology in cyber threat detection and protection for the security of national defense assets. The specific development focuses on designing the core knowledge graph database, identifying and ingesting the appropriate sources, and developing a prototype UI/UX based on discovered user needs. Phase II would fully implement the database designed in the MVP, automate source ingestion and other critical ETL processes, add sources, and refine the UI/UX based on further user need discovery.
