Research abstract

Heights Labs proposes development of advanced cryptocurrency forensic investigation and interdiction technology to help the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) combat Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) networks. This project seeks to enhance law enforcement capabilities by automating the identification of illicit funds on the blockchain, enabling asset forfeiture and seizure. The technology will enable DHS and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) to trace and seize cryptocurrency related to illegal activity, supporting various executive orders and enhancing national security. The project also aims to enhance blockchain analysis capabilities for DHS and CBP, enabling the identification of illicit activity and bad actors for asset forfeiture. Key tasks include developing a wallet monitoring system, blockchain travel profiles, and potentially a conversational interface. The project will also explore expanding blockchain tracing to include BNB, Tron, and Ethereum, ultimately seeking IATO certification for system compliance. Final Report preparation, stakeholder review, and incorporation of feedback are key tasks. The outcome is stakeholder acceptance of the Final Report and associated documents.
