Research abstract

Military and Commercial customers in the US have a driving need to have source code level access to a low cost open source autopilot solution with traceable security and reliability. GCI proposes to validate the product-market fit between the proposed autopilot and software solution and a potential USAF stakeholder, analyze open source codebases and hardware designs and select the best candidates resulting in actionable timelines and plans for the implementation of the audited autopilot. The value proposition is that the effort will re-enable programs in the DoD that have been put on hold due to the lack of secure, cost effective autopilots. Many companies are developing solutions daily to support the DoD but these would be cost prohibitive if required to use the currently approved autopilots. Additionally, DoD personnel will have access to low cost tools to continue the development of their internal solutions.
