Research abstract

As the U.S. Air Force continues to explore innovative ways to identify and connect with cutting-edge technologies, AFWERX and SBIR Variants have emerged as new vehicles to facilitate these non-traditional interactions. However, there are few, if any, capabilities to capture and track these interactions and subsequent projects. We propose a suite of applications to fill this void. Through our Phase I customer discovery and feasibility study, however, we learned that to meet existing AF needs, we need to a create a suite of products that focuses and excels in technology scouting and project management through separate, complementary applications rather than a single, fused system. In Phase II, therefore, we propose building two working prototypes for our AFRL customers and end-users that exist within TechSuite: our comprehensive library of products for AFRL that accomplish their specific goals related to technology discovery and management. TechSuite will be comprised of: TechScout: a desktop application that specializes in technology discovery and engagement with industry built on the basis of TNEBULA TechPlan: a desktop application that specializes in technology and project tracking and management built on the basis of Ergo.
