Research abstract

Fully Adaptive Radar (FAR) has emerged as a key potential enabling technology to address a plurality of challenges facing the Warfighter in highly contested operations including Anti-Access, Area-Denial (A2AD) . The ability to adapt all radar functions on-the-fly, including transmitter and receiver functions, while affording unprecedented new capabilities, immediately gives rise to a major systems analysis challenge since conventional radar modeling and simulation (M&S) tools cannot support such a complicated system. Under this project ISL will development, demonstrate and transition of a new set of user friendly M&S tools to support advanced FAR analysis and development. This will include both M&S software and test hardware to support advanced hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing of emerging CoFAR systems.
