Research abstract

OptTek Systems, Inc. (OptTek) will employ our deep experience with model optimization, analysis, and fitting to provide solutions for benchmarking differences in results from different modeling and test sources, calibrating models, and automating model regression and stress testing during the model development and validation process. In this project the team will calibrate lower fidelity modeling and simulation (M&S) tools to provide results that more closely match results from tests and higher-fidelity models. This will allow analysts to understand where results from lower-fidelity models closely align with trusted results and to use these models with higher confidence for analysis studies. When faster running tools can be calibrated to provide closely matching results for certain use cases, this will allow Missile Defense System (MDS) analysts to use these less expensive to run, faster models to perform meaningful, trusted analysis much more quickly than can be done today relying solely on more expensive, slower running, higher-fidelity models and tests. Automating regression and stress testing in a model continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline will improve the development cycle time for model developers yielding higher quality models ready to perform analysis with less development time.
