Research abstract

As a cloud-like architecture is adopted by mission critical System of Systems (SoS), the problem of system management is critically important to solve in order to ensure continuity of operations. System operators and maintainers need a way to manage system resources and restore a system to health when subsystems in the SoS are sharing these resources. A technology to determine and present Courses of Action (COA) to effect system resource allocation changes during casualties, as well as during changes in the operational mission which the SoS is supporting. Sonalysts will research and prototype an Integrated System Performance Manager (ISPM) to provide the right blend of autonomy and COA analysis to support submarine warfighters who will operate and maintain the Submarine Warfare Tactical System (SWFTS) with a Common Computing Environment (CCE).
