Research abstract

The Tacticum Pterodactyl UAS is a budget friendly multi-role/mission force multiplier and established doctrine disrupter.  Once fully mission capable, we will leverage an AI augmented distributed C3 to saturate the AOR by simultaneously launching, flying and recovering up to hundreds of UAS to multiple  locations all operated by a single operator.  The genesis for Pterodactyl was in the Joint USAF & USA White Paper, circa 2005, that gave rise to the Air Mobility Command reorganization of the Tanker Airlift Control Elements (TALCE) into the Contingency Response Groups (CRG).  The Tactiucm PI commanded one of the first CRGs. In 2006, his unit worked with the 82 ABN, Fort Bragg, on creating joint doctrine for airfield seizure and operations. The Pterodactyl will carry a 1,000  pound payload for 2.5-3.0 hours, with a range of 180-300 miles.  At 80% payload the flight ceiling increases to about 10,000’ and at 50% payload the flight ceiling is approximately FL200. This contact will be a concept R&D that proves it can fly per the propulsion tables we developed for our Hybrid Electric Powertrain, Power, and Propulsion System (HEPPPS).  The payload, range, and basic aerial navigation will be accomplished.  Full mission development across the range of missions, firefighting,  multi-modal logistics, agriculture, energy, construction and Search  Rescue will be developed as required by our customers. For military customers mission development in benign or kinetic operations in  a GPS denied environment will take approximately 10-12 months and require a software upgrade.
