Research abstract

Metron, Inc. proposes a unique solution for developing a methodology to integrate warfare assessment models with agent-based models (ABMs) to enhance the fidelity of human decision making representations in Naval warfare analysis. We will implement the integration of ABMs with the Naval Simulation System (NSS) as outlined and initiated in our Phase I work. Infrastructure enhancements that facilitate the connection between the simulation and the ABM representation will be added. Once the baseline architecture is in place, the ABM capability will be modified to reflect Information Operations (IO) decision making. The IO decision making will then be integrated with the Information Operations Training System (IOTS), an IO planning/training tool. The integration of NSS/ABMs/IOTS will be supported by data collected during a major fleet IO exercise, and demonstrated in a constructive simulation of a large-scale warfare conflict with emphasis on IO operations.
