Research abstract

The Broadband Compact Hyperspectral Imaging System (BCHIS) generates VNIR hyperspectral imagery from 450nm to 1000 nm, and SWIR imagery from 1000nm to 2500nm simultaneously. The VNIR and SWIR imagery is matched in IFOV, and is co-registered so that the VNIR and SWIR cubes can be combined. The BCHIS system includes a real time FPGA/DSP processor hosted by an internal embedded PC computer that is capable of running complex detection algorithms in real time, and displaying the results to the operator in a clear and understandable visual format. The algorithms are to include spectral angle mapping, principal components analysis, end member analysis and anomaly detection.
