Research abstract
A field-portable surface bondability detector will be developed. During Phase I, we demonstrated the ability to detect the presence on surfaces of even minute amounts of contaminants. During Phase II, we will extend this method to a wider variety of contaminants and improve its quantitative accuracy. We will also perform tests to determine the effect of contaminants on bond strength.
