Research abstract

Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI) radar provides an all-weather day-night capability to detect moving targets and provide robust persistent day-night surveillance of regions of interest. These radar systems can detect moving vehicles and human beings. These systems will also detect large animals moving in the surveillance area. These false alarms can be expensive in terms of time and resources required to prosecute the false tracks, resulting in an ineffective system. The main purpose of the proposed research is to develop a novel discrimination algorithm that will significantly reduce false alarms in GMTI radar systems caused by wildlife.
