Research abstract

Lynntech proposes to develop a low power, low noise, electrochemically driven air pump for portable fuel cell systems. Air delivery is achieved using a dual-diaphragm pump actuated via Lynntech's highly energy efficient electrochemical pump. In Phase I a prototype pump will be developed to demonstrate the feasibility of a five-fold reduction in size and weight over conventional air pumps. Operation in cold environments will also be demonstrated. In Phase II fully functional air pumps will be developed, demonstrated, and delivered for third party integration and testing.
