Research abstract

The Compact Multispectral Measurement System (CMMS) is designed to generate three dimensional models of real-world object. The 3-D models are captured with close range photogrammetry. The 3-D models include fully characterized spectral reflectance information of the surfaces, which is captured at the same time as the 3-D model information. The information is stored in the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) form. The CMMS is a portable system that is to be used for rapid data capture and data processing. The equipment is thus streamlined for portability, and the procedures are designed to be as automated as possible, and to remove the human operator from the processing, in order to improve the efficiency. The CMMS uses measurement methods that are currently unique in the field of close range photogrammetry.
