Research abstract

The primary goal of this Phase II effort is to refine, fabricate, and evaluate the high performance, compact MWIR hyperspectral sensor core and IDCA that was developed during the Phase I effort and leveraged from WRI’s existing XLW-200 LWIR hyperspectral sensors.  This MWIR hyperspectral imaging sensor is designed to accommodate the low radiances emitted and reflected by targets in the MWIR spectrum.  In addition, the prototype MWIR sensor core developed during the Phase II effort will be designed to be compatible with the scanning afocal telescope and calibration hardware developed during the Phase I effort. The optical properties of the prototype system, including radiometric performance, spectral smile and keystone distortion, spatial and spectral resolution, and other system parameters will be measured and evaluated.
