Research abstract

The primary goal of this Phase I effort is to investigate and develop a high-performance compact MWIR hyperspectral imaging sensors enabled by a high throughput refractive relay design form.  The optical properties of these systems, including light-gathering capability, spatial and spectral resolutions, smile and keystone distortions, and other parameters will be modeled and characterized, and radiometric performance metrics such as NESR will be predicted.  Trades between parameters such as spectral bin width, integration time, and performance will be evaluated with considerations towards cost, size, weight, and power (C-SWaP) requirements.
