Research abstract

Davidson Technolotgies Inc. has proposed a task for concept development of a probe based Optical Adjunct Sensor for Ballistic Missile Defense. Phase I goals are to define the operational context for such a sensor, including trajcetory shape and orientation relative to threat ballistic missiles, viewing range and time, examining deployment time to support GMDS engagements and define it's potential contribution to discrimination capability. This concept is derived from the GSTS program of the late 80s and will provide an updated look based on newer and emerging sensor technologies and the current mission of GMDS against smaller numbers of threat ballistic missiles.
