Research abstract

Mosaic ATM, Inc. proposes the development of Track Nexus, a scalable, modular system designed to enhance the Aegis Combat System's (ACS) real-time track synchronization and data fusion capabilities. Leveraging extensive expertise in advanced data science, machine learning (ML), and microservices architecture, Track Nexus addresses persistent challenges in track alignment, such as desynchronization, duplicate tracks, and multi-object associations, to improve situational awareness and operational efficiency.ÝBuilding on our prior work under a separate NAVSEA Phase II SBIR, Track Nexus introduces enhanced data fusion algorithms and ML-powered anomaly detection. The systemís advanced fuser will apply Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN) and other techniques to merge, split, and filter track data for accuracy and consistency. Real-time operation and scalability are ensured through a microservices framework, enabling seamless integration into current and future Aegis baselines. The solution is expected to deliver a minimum 10% improvement in message throughput and 95% accuracy in resolving track discrepancies, reducing operator workload while maintaining high-density and high-stakes operational performance.ÝPhase I will focus on conceptual development and a prototype demonstration using unclassified FAA air track datasets and automatic identification system (AIS) surface track datasets to validate track synchronization and scalability. This effort lays the foundation for advanced development in Phase II, ensuring alignment with Navy mission objectives and adaptability for evolving requirements.ÝTrack Nexus represents a transformative solution for modern maritime defense, providing robust, reliable, and actionable track data for mission-critical operations.
