Research abstract

Alitheonís FeaturePrint is an optical-AI technology that creates for items and products what fingerprints are for people: a unique, resilient, and inherent product identifier that enables full traceability without any modification or additional markers.ÝÝNavy multi-die system supply chains are complex, with the need to source many sensitive and critical microelectronics from various manufacturing plants and warehouses all over the world that the Navy cannot fully monitor. FeaturePrint enables precise, real-time identification, authentication, and traceability of individual chiplets and components from manufacturing through to operational use, providing a resilient security mechanism throughout the supply chain, deployment, and maintenance. Through a simple off-the-shelf camera (or mobile phone camera), Navy suppliers and personnel can seamlessly create and track a product FeaturePrint to enable highly secure identification, authentication, and traceability of individual microelectronics out of millions of identical ones. This deterministic approach overcomes the limitations of traditional proxy-based serialization that can be tampered with, scratched off, manipulated, or faked, providing a scalable and cost-effective method for safeguarding supply chains.ÝÝThe system achieves rapid identification with over 99% accuracy and zero false positives, eliminating human error and reducing costs associated with misidentification and counterfeit parts. This innovative approach streamlines inventory management and enhances operational readiness by ensuring that every critical component is verifiably genuine, ultimately securing the Navyís multi-die system supply chain against attacks, disruptions, and vulnerabilities.
