Research abstract

Alitheon’s FeaturePrint is an optical-AI technology that creates for items and products what fingerprints are for people: a unique identifier, enabling full traceability, which does not require modifying or adding anything to the items. By just taking photos with standard off-the-shelf cameras (or mobile phones) and very basic training, FeaturePrinting enables identification, authentication, and traceability of individual items out of millions of identical ones. Whether starting at the manufacturer, in the supply chain, at installation, or during service and maintenance, the Army can streamline inventory management and controls, and enable irrefutable identification of mission critical items, parts, and assemblies, in order to: 1. Eliminate human error from misidentification 2. Reduce costs and waste by enabling full, simple track and trace of parts and inventory 3. Reduce readiness and mission risks that stem from counterfeit, fraudulent, and suspect items entering the supply chain  Alitheon surpasses competitors because with a single, easy to implement system, it rapidly identifies and/or authenticates any part with 99% accuracy. In serializing each individual item, the Army will no longer need to worry about risks to its operational integrity and warfighters associated with finding missing parts,, material shortages and delays, over-purchasing, unnecessary storage, and related costly mistakes.
