Research abstract

AiRANACULUS proposes Dynamic Self Organizing, Optimization and Control of Terrestrial and Space-based Wireless Networks for Interference Mitigation and Congestion Control (DYNAMO). DYNAMO provides robust and resilient communications over a heterogeneous / hybrid wireless network consisting of terrestrial, space, military and commercial radios and networks. DYNAMO enhances constructs such as Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) by making it robust and providing many different pathways (military, commercial – 4G/ 5G, SATCOM) to deliver the vital information. DYNAMO supports a global multi-domain operation for the United States Department of Defense including the Space Force. AiRANACULUS' s Patented CLAIRE and INSPiRE technologies form the basis of DYNAMO. CLAIRE and INSPiRE technologies have been developed on NASA SBIR Phase I/II/II-E funding and through private investment. DYNAMO is a software appliqué that makes ANY Radio (e. g. 5G, 5G NTN, Link-16) or a Router (e. g. LEO terminal / Gateway) resilient to interference and congestion through dynamic and intelligent re-configuration and Network Slicing. INSPiRE and CLAIRE provide hybrid / heterogeneous wireless optimization capability driven by big data analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Military would also benefit by leveraging emerging 5G and Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) Systems as well as Network Slicing construct, both, for operating through the commercial networks, and establishing DoD Private Networks for specific needs. Such 5G NTN solutions, driven by open architectures (e. g. Open Radio Access Network – O-RAN) can substantially enhance the reach of the United States operations overseas, for combat, as well as humanitarian operations. DYNAMO, driven by INSPiRE and CLAIRE provide wide variety of interference and congestion mitigation techniques that ensures that most critical data and command and control information is delivered to the warfighters when they need it. Network Slicing allows tailorable qualities of experiences for heterogeneous networks. Network Slicing requires cooperation across Mobile Virtual Network Operators and Internet Service Providers. However, AiRANACULUS has found a way to overcome this Network Slicing operate through challenge to maintain the desired Quality of Service (QoS) over different MVNOs and ISPs.
